On the eighth day of Chanukah, Migdal Ohr hosted the third annual “Taste of Light” - an exclusive chef evening in a private home in Teaneck, NJ to raise support for Israel’s most vulnerable children. The evening featured a hand-curated chef menu by Chef Yosef Epstein and Chef Meir Goldberg with wine and cocktail pairings by Wine Expert and Specialist, Gabe Geller of Royal Wine Corp.

This year’s Taste of Light raised $300K with a 3X match as part of Migdal Ohr’s $2.4M crowdfunding campaign in support of Migdal Ohr’s orphaned and underprivileged children in Israel.

The funds went directly towards essentials, education, and empowerment. There is no question that the donations will have a ripple effect on generations - and we are just getting started!

At the event, Executive Director Atara Solow shared, “For the thousands of children at Migdal Ohr, we are their family. Instead of a life on the streets, these Jewish children are living a wholesome life where they are internalizing core Jewish values that will help them succeed and overcome the challenges that life throws their way. Thanks to this incredible investment, the 50th anniversary of Migdal Ohr is just the start of the next 50 years caring for and empowering the next generation!

Thank you to gracious hosts Noam and Rebecca Block who opened their home and to the amazing planning committee that made it such a success: Chani and Akiva Bersson, Ashley and Elli Klapper, Gail and Binyamin Rieder, and Elissa and Steven Seltzer. Mazal tov to our raffle winners Gail and Binyamin Rieder and Sheva and Dov Adler!
