Officials from Israel’s Ministries of Agriculture, Welfare, and the Interior visited Zoharim Youth Village to gain an in-depth understanding of its agricultural therapy program. Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman and the staff led the tour, demonstrating the unique approach that has made Zoharim a benchmark for working with at-risk youth.

Learning from A Model Program in Action

Zoharim provides formerly ultra-orthodox teens, many of whom are coming from the streets, with a structured, supportive environment where they can regain confidence and start to rebuild their lives. Through daily work in the fields, caring for animals in the riding stables, and participating in hands-on agricultural projects, teens learn responsibility, empathy, and teamwork. Within months, the program fosters renewed motivation, improved academic performance, and restored trust in adults. Alumni graduate college, go on to serve in elite army units, start families, and participate as active leaders in Israeli society.

Influencing Programs for At-Risk Youth Across Israel

The ministries studied the village’s methods to better understand what works with at-risk youth and to inform programs across the country. By examining Zoharim’s approach, government and community leaders can replicate its successful strategies in cities and towns nationwide, ensuring more teens have access to effective methodologies that support personal growth and long-term success.

A Legacy of Transformation

Thousands of Migdal Ohr alumni—including fathers, military servicemen, entrepreneurs, and community leaders—trace their success to the opportunities and guidance they received at Zoharim. The village continues to serve as a blueprint for youth programs throughout Israel, demonstrating how care, structure, and practical skills can change lives.

Your support ensures that Zoharim can continue serving as both a sanctuary for vulnerable youth and a model for national youth programs, shaping the next generation of leaders!
