Mazal Tov to Hudis Moskowitz and Steven Bernstein — two of our incredible LeadOhr Young Professionals — on their recent wedding! This beautiful couple, who have each been deeply committed to Migdal Ohr and our mission for years, began their new life together this month. But they didn’t just mark the occasion with a personal celebration. In true Migdal Ohr spirit, they chose to share their joy in a way that would uplift others and create lasting impact.
In honor of their wedding, Hudis and Steven decided to “twin” their simcha with that of another young couple: Yosef and Simcha, graduates of Zoharim, Migdal Ohr’s educational youth village in the Ella Valley. Their thoughtful and generous act made it possible for Yosef and Simcha — who both come from incredibly challenging backgrounds — to celebrate their own wedding in dignity, surrounded by love and community.
Yosef grew up without traditional family support and experienced the instability that so often accompanies such a childhood. But through Zoharim and the nurturing environment provided by Migdal Ohr, he transformed into a responsible, grounded, and kind young man, ready to build a future filled with hope.
Simcha, too, endured hardship — including separation from her family, who have been unable to travel to Israel since the war began. Meeting Yosef was a turning point in her life, and their union symbolizes a new beginning rooted in shared strength, compassion, and healing. Thanks to Hudis and Steven, not only did Yosef and Simcha have a beautiful wedding on our Zoharim campus — but Simcha’s family was flown to Israel to celebrate by her side, a dream she never imagined would come true.
This is far more than a story of generosity. It’s a reflection of the kind of people Hudis and Steven are.
Hudis has been part of the Migdal Ohr family for over five years. As a founding member of our New York Young Professionals Division, she’s played a crucial role in growing our next generation of leadership, always advocating for the youth we serve and helping to spread our mission with passion and integrity.
Steven, too, has been a constant and dedicated force in our LeadOhr community. Over the past five years, he’s helped shape our Young Professionals network into a vibrant, engaged group that is now a pillar of Migdal Ohr’s U.S. outreach. In fact, it was through their shared involvement with Migdal Ohr that Hudis and Steven met — and built the foundation of their relationship on shared values of giving, meaning, and commitment to the Jewish people.
Their wedding marks not just the joining of two people, but the celebration of a deeper mission — one that bridges lives, generations, and futures.
