Kindergarteners Celebrating First Siddurim with Rabbi Grossman
Program Updates

There are moments in a child’s life that stay with them forever — small, tender milestones that plant seeds of love, belonging, and identity. This week at Migdal Ohr, we witnessed one of those unforgettable moments.

Our kindergarten classes, made up of some of the sweetest, most resilient children you can imagine, were invited into the home of Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman to celebrate their very first siddurim — their first prayer books. This wasn't just a celebration; it was a milestone of deep meaning. It was their Siddur Party — a cherished rite of passage in Jewish life, marking the beginning of their personal journey into prayer and connection with Hashem.

These children come from a wide variety of backgrounds, many from homes marked by instability, poverty, or loss. Some are orphans. Others were raised without the basic foundations most take for granted — like being taught how to daven, how to ask Hashem for strength, or even how to say “Modeh Ani” in the morning.

And yet, here they were — smiling wide, singing songs, and holding their brand-new siddurim with pride. Sitting around the Shabbat table in Rabbi Grossman’s warm and welcoming home, they were not just students — they were part of a family. A family that believes in them. A family that sees them not as statistics, but as the future of the Jewish people.

At Migdal Ohr, we know that Jewish pride is built one moment at a time — one hug from a teacher, one smile of encouragement, one siddur gifted with love. And we also know that without you, our devoted supporters and partners, these moments wouldn’t exist.

Because of your generosity, these precious children — who may never have known what a siddur is — now understand that they are part of something eternal. They are connected to generations of Jews who came before them, and they will carry our shared legacy forward with strength and joy.

Watching their eyes light up as they turned the pages of their siddurim was more than heartwarming — it was a glimpse into a brighter future.

These children are our pride and joy. They are Israel’s next leaders, teachers, and dreamers.

Mazal Tov to our kindergarten classes on this beautiful milestone.
And THANK YOU — for making moments like this possible.

Together, we are not just educating children.
We are shaping a nation.
