Rabbi Grossman surprised the community in Miami, FL with a last-minute visit on his way back from Latin America. Immediately, our devoted Committee Chairs, Adam and Dana Sasouness, went to work organizing what became a spectacular Melave Malka in honor of Rosh Chodesh Adar (the Jewish month of Adar).
Adam and Dana engaged our partners Rabbi Yair Massriof the Sephardic Center and Rabbi Gavriel Koskas of Magen David, who have been actively involved in caring for widows and orphans with Migdal Ohr since the start of the war in Israel. We were fortunate that AFMO Board Member Louis Menaged and his wonderful wife, Anat, live in Florida. They are outstanding ambassadors and played an active role in inviting guests and making the event a huge success.
Rabbi Grossman was deeply moved by the turnout and shared the story of how he became a father to tens of thousands of children. Two of his original graduates, Shai Knopfer and Shimon Bouskila, live in Miami and spoke about how their experiences at Migdal Ohr shaped the course of their lives. It was incredibly inspiring to see these graduates paying it forward as leaders for Migdal Ohr in South Florida and donors who started the giving when we began to take pledges. In total, we raised a generous $300K for the children of Israel that evening!
The Melave Malka was hosted at the dazzling Ostrow Brasserie, a kosher French chef restaurant in Miami. Special thanks to chef and owner Olivia Ostrow, who prepared an absolutely delicious meal and shared her passion for Israel with us.We are looking forward to building on this incredible evening and deepening our connections with everyone who was there.
Thank you for investing in the future of the Jewish People in Israel by caring for and empowering the children who need your help today!
