Happy 𝙎𝙞𝙜𝙙 to our Ethiopian brothers and sisters!

Today, they are celebrating a unique Jewish holiday that goes back centuries. Sigd marks the renewal of the covenant between the Jewish people, God, and His Torah. It is a holy day, 50 days after Yom Kippur, when Ethiopian Jews pray to be able to return to Zion.

Ethopian Jews, their traditions, and history are very dear to our hearts as Rabbi Grossman has been involved in helping the community since their arrival in the 80's. Rabbi Grossman insisted on starting institutions and opening schools to Ethiopian children so that they could become part of Israeli society and successfully integrate into their new homeland.

To this day, they are many Ethiopian children thriving at Migdal Ohr and alumni who have become distinguished professionals contributing to society at large.
