At Afikei Ohr, every new skill learned is another step toward a brighter future.

Last week, the young women of the Afikei Ohr Youth Village had the opportunity to sell their goods at a local technology conference. They set up and operated their own sales booth, offering handmade farm products and cosmetics they created themselves using herbs and produce grown in the village's greenhouses.

From cultivating the plants to developing the products and presenting them to customers, the girls were involved in every stage of the process. The experience gave them the chance to build practical business skills while gaining confidence in their abilities.

The week also included a hands-on concrete workshop, where the girls designed and created decorative stepping stones that will become part of a pathway through the village. Their work will leave a lasting mark on the campus they call home while serving as a reminder of what they can accomplish through creativity and perseverance.

Here, education extends far beyond the classroom. Through opportunities like these, young women who are rebuilding their lives discover their strengths, develop independence, and learn that their potential is far greater than they may have imagined.
