In Migdal Ohr’s Cooking Up a Future Culinary Institute, the air is always filled with delicious smells—but one recent day, it was also filled with something even sweeter: inclusion and joy.
Thirteen young adults with cognitive and physical disabilities from the organization AKIM were welcomed for a special culinary workshop led by volunteer chef Ilana Saada. With patience and warmth, Chef Ilana guided participants through the art of preparing salads, focaccias, and baked dishes. The group’s excitement grew as they worked side by side, chopping, mixing, and baking together.
When it came time to sit down and share the meal they had prepared, there were smiles all around. Chef Ilana reflected, “This was not just a cooking workshop. It was a workshop of life.”
Through opportunities like this, Migdal Ohr empowers every person—regardless of their background or ability—to discover their strengths, build confidence, and experience belonging.
Your support keeps kitchens like this one open, turning every recipe into a lesson in dignity and love.
