Happy Mother's Day Weekend! It's a special time to recognize and thank the incredible women in our lives who nurture, encourage, and care for us.

Mother's Day is complicated for many of the youth at Migdal Ohr. Many children do not know their biological mothers or are estranged from mothers who can not care for them. Instead, they are being cared for by women at Migdal Ohr who have taken on roles as dorm mothers, foster moms, teachers, and mentors to hundreds of children.

We try to instill a sense of gratitude in our children and help them to see just how much they are loved.

This year, as a sign of their appreciation, the teenage boys at the Zoharim Youth Village took on a project on the grounds to plant flowers in honor of their incredible dorm mothers - Sivan, Eitana, Osnat, Revital and Hadassah. They also organized and hosted a BBQ dinner for their "Zoharim moms" where they presented a moving slideshow thanking and describing each one.

Being a mother is a work of love that comes with no vacations. At Migdal Ohr, we are blessed with selfless and caring women that give their all to our children, 365 days a week, 24/7.

These days, as Israel faces a military operation, we rely on our mothers more than ever. At all hours of the day and night, they are here to reassure and calm our children, alleviate their fears and strengthen their faith. They give them the tools to face life with courage and resilience.

This was an amazing opportunity to these incredible women and to show our appreciation for all that they do for our children.
