Donate in Honor or Memory of a loved one
With Migdal Ohr, you have the opportunity to honor a special person or make a memorial donation by helping to make a difference in the lives of children in need in Israel.

A gift or memorial donation is a fitting tribute to someone special and helps Migdal Ohr continue its vital mission.

With your donation of $36 or more, Migdal Ohr will include a personalized gift card to be sent to the individual or the family of the individual in whose name the donation was made.

Be sure to include all relevant information (Name of Honoree/In Memory of, mailing address, occasion) with your donation.

Designate your Celebration (Simcha) to benefit Migdal Ohr
It is becoming more commonplace if you are making a wedding, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, birthday party or anniversary, to ask your guests and family, that in lieu of gifts, you would prefer that a donation be made to a favorite charity.

This is a wonderful way to spread the word about the great work that Migdal Ohr does, and have your guests share in the ultimate chesed project.

If you need assistance determining the best way to inform your friends and family of your desire to have a donation made to Migdal Ohr in lieu of a traditional gift, please call our New York Office. We will gladly help you determine how to best communicate your wishes.

Migdal Ohr's Bridal Fund was established to help Migdal Ohr alumni couples in Israel who do not have the means for even a modest wedding. For a $5,000 bridal sponsorship, a couple receives a full wedding which includes a wedding dress, invitations, a ceremony and reception venue, catering, and a one-man band to enhance their special day. Additionally, they are provided with financial assistance which covers rent, furniture, appliances, and various household items. There are over 120 Migdal Ohr alumni couples who get married each year, and every dollar donated to the Bridal Fund goes directly to the couple in need.

The American Friends of Migdal Ohr [AFMO] now offers chuppah tefillah cards for rental. If you or someone you know has a wedding coming up, please consider having these cards placed on the chairs at your ceremony. These cards offer those in attendance the prayers for prosperity, health, a long life, and finding a mate. It is customary to recite these prayers when the bride and groom are standing under the chuppah, since that moment provides a meaningful connection for prayers to be answered. These chuppah cards are available to all American supporters, with a suggested minimum donation of $500.

AFMO also offers benchers for rental that can be used for any simcha - a wedding, aufruf, sheva brachot, bris, pidyon haben, etc. The minimum suggested donation is $500 and 100% of your donation goest to support the Migdal Ohr Bridal Fund.

If you are interested in sponsoring a wedding or would like to receive Migdal Ohr's chuppah tefillah cards for your wedding or benchers for any event, please contact Beth Nussbaum at

Migdal Ohr’s Bar and Bat Mitzvah Twinning Program offers an extraordinary opportunity for your child to share his or her simcha with an underprivileged boy or girl at Migdal Ohr. Your entire family can participate in a celebration on the actual Migdal Ha’Emek campus in Northern Israel or from your home anywhere in the world! This is a deeply meaningful experience and a truly rewarding gift.

On Campus

Your child can celebrate his or her Bar or Bat Mitzvah on the Migdal Ha’Emek campus in Israel. The celebration will be shared with a male or female student at Migdal Ohr . For that student, whose life has been filled with poverty and neglect, often without a family of their own with whom to celebrate this momentous occasion, the connection with a loving, supportive family during this special time is particularly significant. This will also be a truly meaningful experience for the participating family! Additionally, it is one of Rabbi Grossman’s greatest joys to participate in these Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, and he does his best to be there to take part in the simcha, schedule permitting.

The basic Bar or Bat Mitzvah sponsorship package includes a party for all of the students of one class in a beautiful hall on campus, with a full celebratory meal, a photographer and a band.

Bar Mitzvah packages start at $7,500 and include a pair of tefillin for one Migdal Ohr student. Bat Mitzvah packages begin at $7,000, and include a siddur for the young lady.

These packages serve 10 of your guests, with a cost of $75 per each additional guest.

More elaborate celebrations can be arranged, for an additional cost, and Migdal Ohr can customize your simcha to meet your needs. To arrange a Bar or Bat Mitzvah Twinning celebration on campus please call 212-397-3700.

From your hometown

The occasion of your Simcha can provide a meaningful Bar or Bat Mitzvah to a less-fortunate Migdal Ohr boy or girl, even if you cannot make it to Israel to celebrate with them. You can personally sponsor a Bar or Bat Mizvah party at Migdal Ohr for an individual student or an entire class!

Sponsorship costs are as follows:

$3,000 Bar Mitzvah Party for a Migdal Ohr Class (includes a pair of tefillin for the Bar Mitzvah boy)

$2500 Bat Mitzvah Party for a Migdal Ohr Class

$600 Pair of Tefillin for a Migdal Ohr Bar Mitzvah Boy

$500 Siddur and new wardrobe for a Migdal Ohr Bat Mitzvah Girl

Some people’s legacies are written on monuments. Yours can be written on the lives of the poor and orphaned children we serve. With a planned gift to Migdal Ohr, you can combine your desire to give to charity with your overall financial, tax, and estate planning goals. Your planned gift gives you a special connection to Migdal Ohr. You will give impoverished, orphaned, abandoned and new immigrant children the opportunity for a better life—for now and for years to come.

Migdal Ohr has many financial planning options to help you plan your estate. Contact our USA office to learn how confidential, personal financial planning can help you achieve your goals while helping to sustain our life-changing mission.

Planned Gifts

The principal benefits of planned gifts accrue to Migdal Ohr at a later time, after your death or the death of your last named beneficiary. Planned gifts take many forms, reducing income and estate taxes, relieving you and your heirs of complicated financial management responsibilities, and helping to fulfill your personal, humanitarian and charitable objectives. Planned gifts can be made in cash, real estate, stocks, bonds, charitable trusts, personal property or life insurance.

Bequests by Will

One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will, in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements to go to Migdal Ohr. In addition to supporting Migdal Ohr, it serves as an example to your heirs of the values and ideals you hold dear. A bequest also can reduce the amount of your taxable estate, which may increase the actual amount available to loved ones.

The following is an example of suggested language to include in your will/trust:

“I give and bequeath to Migdal Ohr, a not-for-profit organization in Israel, with American Office (Fed ID # 13-3389558) presently located at 1560 Broadway, Suite 708, New York, NY 10036, the sum of $______, or _______% of my estate, to be used for the accomplishment of its general purpose (or for a specific purpose as indicated)”.

You may designate your bequest in two ways:

•    For the general purposes of Migdal Ohr (an unrestricted bequest)
•    To be used to support a particular program (a restricted bequest)

Who will say Kaddish for your loved ones?
Migdal Ohr’s Perpetual Yahrzeit Program ensures that Torah will be learned and Kaddish will be said in their memory, every year. Additionally, you will receive a notice sharing with you the secular date on which the Yartzeit will fall to help you honor their memory as well.

If you are interested in participating in the Perpetual Yahrzeit program, please contact Allyne Zorn at

** continuation of the program is at the discretion of Migdal Ohr
