Ohr Yisraeli is an expanding network of 160 youth clubhouses in communities and cities throughout Israel. These clubs reach out to youth who are at risk of getting into trouble with the law or becoming victims of abuse or violence.
Here, they have a secure place to come and eat, study, and play after school hours every day, all year round. They also benefit from having a warm environment and loving home to come to whenever they need.
Over 8,000 young people visit their local clubhouse regularly, participating in a wide variety of social activities – workshops, educational programs, discussions on Jewish heritage and values, outdoor trips and community volunteer projects. The staff at the youth clubs build these activities with the hopes of providing participants with a feeling of self-value, while also instilling in them fundamental Jewish and social values and giving them the tools to become successful young adults.
