2009 Caring Institute's International Humanitarian of the Year Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman
On October 13, 2009, The Caring Institute named Rabbi Grossman the "International Humanitarian of the Year" at their annual Caring Awards Dinner in Los Angeles. Rabbi Grossman was honored along with the esteemed General Colin Powell. The Caring Institute promotes the values of caring, integrity and large-scale public service.

Rabbi Grossman was so touched by the evening that he promised to create one just like it in Israel on the condition that his new friend attend, “I hope our first guest speaker, who I know also speaks Yiddish, will be my friend Colin Powell.”

The Caring Institute was founded in 1985 by Val J. Halamandaris following his meeting with Mother Teresa who inspired him to dedicate his life to the values of caring, integrity and public service. Its Board of Trustees is chaired by Senator Robert J. Dole. Very special thanks to Rick Barry for introducing us to The Caring Institute and for officially nominating Rabbi Grossman.
