Migdal Ohr's extracurricular community activities help underprivileged children from every corner of Israel. Activities outside Migdal Ha'Emek are made possible through the cooperation of local municipalities and community leaders.
Migdal Ohr runs seven day camps at sites throughout the country. Our day camp program provides underprivileged boys and girls with fun leisure activities, including swimming, picnics, and recreational sports. In addition, its curriculum reinforces the classroom knowledge gained by students during the school year, and prepares them for the next school term.
After school clubhouses meet the specific needs of youth from the former Soviet Union who attend public schools in different parts of the country. Due to the fact that many of the children come from single-parent and new immigrant families, they may have no one to greet them at home, provide a meal, or offer moral support when the school day is over.
This program keeps these children off the streets—and away from the culture of drugs and crime. Clubhouses serve free meals and provide cultural, educational, and entertainment activities. Staffed by caring counselors who build relationships with entire families, the program helps both children and their parents ease the process of absorption into their new country.
